Individual Therapy

Acknowledging the courage it took for you to reach out to a stranger for help at the most vulnerable time in your life, the therapists at Y.O.U.R. Therapy Clinic will listen non-judgmentally to your narrative and share any knowledge and skills which can help bring balance to your life. In a 60-minute individual session the focus is on general mental health using Solution Focused, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Compassion Focused, and Emotion Focused Therapy to assist the individual in better understanding themselves while developing a tool box of resources they have created in collaboration with the therapist.It is important to validate the client’s perspective, allow them to grow from learning through making mistakes, and giving them the knowledge of how to accept the things they cannot change and to change the things they can control.  In a 90- minute session When it comes to working with trauma narratives it is important to give the body time to process and then provide ways to contain, cope, and complete what is showing up in a session, which requires more time.  As an integrative social worker, Amelia has found through blending modalities the individual will find clarity in how they have developed into who they currently are; while building courage and connections to change the things that no longer serve them; along with providing themselves compassion for the past; and the confidence and curiosity for their future endeavors.
